Introduction

Bio:

I’ve lived in Montreal for over twelve years, during which time I studied for a Master’s degree in Art Therapy. Previously I lived in Ottawa, where I studied design, Fine Arts, Photography and Psychology. I exhibited photographic and multi-media installations in Ottawa and Saskatoon, and curated several other art exhibits. While in Ottawa I worked on a number of residential design and decorating projects, and I also worked "hands-on" on renovation projects to gain additional practical knowledge.

In Montreal I have continued my work in residential interior decorating and design, and seven years ago started my own company, Jean Stéphane Beauchamp Design. I also work in partnership with the boutique Qui Dort Dîne on some projects (see links). I am currently renovating my Victorian triplex in the Plateau (an ongoing process).

My style:

My work depends on your needs and tastes and together, we will create a space that is unique, comfortable and functional. I particularly appreciate eclectic interiors that bring together different periods, styles or elements. An Eileen Gray table next to a Stickley “Arts & Crafts” commode in a loft interior or Victorian home. A contemporary divan side by side with the old armchair your grandparents loved.

My style is a little urban, a little “country”, a little contemporary, a little traditional and always timeless.

Please see the "Services" section to find out more and the "Photos" and "Magazines" sections to see my projects.
